Mutoscope Privacy Policy

Last updated 26 September 2026

Mutoscope is published by SocialSure Private Limited. This policy explains what the app does with your information.

Data we collect

None. Mutoscope collects no personal data, no usage analytics, no crash telemetry and no identifiers. Your drawings are never uploaded.

What is stored on your device

Your loops (project names, frames as PNG images, reel settings), an optional reference photo you pick, your settings, and, only if you switch on "Keep simple counts on this phone", three local counts shown in Settings. All of it lives in the app's private storage on your phone. The app itself sends nothing anywhere.

If you have turned on Android's own device backup to your Google account, Android may include this app's private storage in that backup, as it does for other apps. That backup is made by Android under your Google account settings, and SocialSure Private Limited never receives it. You can turn it off in Android settings.

To delete a loop, long-press it on the Projects screen and choose Delete. To delete everything, clear the app's storage in Android settings or uninstall the app. To take your data with you, use "Export project" or Settings, "Back up all projects", which writes one file to a place you choose; "Restore from backup" reads it back. GIF and MP4 files you export go only where you save or share them.

Permissions

Mutoscope requests no Android permissions. Reference photos are chosen through the Android photo picker, which gives the app only the one photo you pick; saving to your gallery on Android 10 and later needs no permission. It has no internet permission, so it cannot send your data off the device even in principle. You can confirm this on the Play Store listing under "App permissions".

Third parties

Mutoscope contains no advertising, no third-party analytics and no third-party SDKs that collect data. After a few successful exports it may show the Google Play in-app review prompt once; that prompt is handled by the Play Store app, and Mutoscope never sees your rating or review.

Children

Because it collects no data at all, it collects no data from children.
