Kith collects nothing. This page explains what that means in practice.
Nothing. Kith does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal information. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server that belongs to us.
Every name, note, moment, date and logged catch up is written to this device's private app storage. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is backed up to us, and nothing is shared. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it, which is why Kith can export the whole notebook as a JSON or CSV file at any time from Settings, and can erase everything on request in two taps.
Kith does not request the INTERNET permission. It cannot send your data anywhere, because Android will not let it open a network connection at all. This is verifiable in the app's manifest on the Play listing.
Kith is not directed at children under 13 and collects nothing from anyone, of any age.
There are none. Kith contains no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK, and no crash reporter. It does not use an advertising ID.
Because nothing is collected or transmitted, there is nothing held about you to access, correct or delete on a server. Uninstalling the app removes its data from your device. Any in-app export gives you a copy of your own content in an open format.
Kith never reads it. There is no READ_CONTACTS permission in the app and no contact picker. Every name in Kith was typed in by you, one at a time. Revoking nothing and granting nothing changes what Kith can see, because the answer is already nothing.
Kith cannot read your call log or your messages, and does not ask for permission to. A catch up appears in Kith only when you say it happened. If you save a phone number against a person, Kith uses it to fill in your own dialler or your own messaging app when you press Call or Open messages. The app has no permission to place a call or send a message itself, so you are always the one who presses send, and Kith never learns whether you did.
Kith records what you give, and nothing about what came back. There is no read receipt, no reply tracking, no response rate, and no scoring of the other person at all. Instrumenting your friends would be surveillance with extra steps, so it is absent by design.
The weekly nudge and the date reminders are scheduled on the device by Android's alarm manager. No push service is involved, no message travels over a network, and no server knows who is in your rings. Discreet notifications, in Settings, replace every name with the word Kith on the lock screen.
Exporting writes a plain file into this device's Downloads folder using your own tap. It is not encrypted, so treat it the way you would treat a paper diary. The file leaves the device only if you choose to send it somewhere yourself. Importing reads a file you pick and merges it into what is already here.
There are none, opt in or otherwise. Kith does not count how often you open it, how many nudges you act on, or anything else. The app has no way to tell us anything, because it has no network permission at all.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new date.
